Two very short stories.

Hey everyone. Here's some super short short stories. Both of them add up to around 300 words each I believe and I created them for a zine I want to publish. Maybe I'll do a blog post series of what I'm learning about zines and how I am doing with creating them. I created one for a prototype and didn't do very well with it but I am wanting to try and perfect it until I feel that I can maybe sell some of them. However, that is all future plans and I will write blog posts about them when the passion for zines comes bck into my life. For now, here's an example of my stories that would go into a zine:

---

She didn't know where she was. All she knew was that she was lying flat on her back and her wrists and ankles were strapped to the bed tightly. When she tried to open her eyes the whiteness and brightness of the room hurt her eyes. She tried to keep herself calm. Panicking would not help her in this situation. A loud bang echoed through the room and she heard two male voices.
'She's looking well considering.'
'Considering?'
'Considering that this drug has never been tested on humans before.'
'I thought you said it had a trial run?'
'A cover up story. We tested it on one rodent and it immediately combusted.'
'And you thought it safe to test it on this human?'
'We have no option. Time is running out for Earth. This woman is our only hope for survival.'
'You never did tell us what's happening on Earth.'

Zara knew that there was something up with Earth. No one was telling her what was happening and now that her best friend has disappeared. There have been rumours about her best friend being taken in by the government for examinations but Zara didn't believe everything she was told. However, her parents wouldn't let her find her best friend.
'It's too dangerous.'
That made Zara want to look into her friends' missing case even more. It wasn't until a week later that Zara picked up on any clues on her friends' case. She was online when the breaking news reports started flooding in. It was stating that a group of girls, including her friend (Zara saw pictures of the victims and her friend was among them), were reported missing under mysterious circumstances via government officials. It was these articles that spurred Zara onto finding other people who had missing relatives because of the government. When she found these people her passion to find her best friend increased. Don't worry Thea, I'll find you.

I hope you enjoyed these two short stories. I won't be posting anything next week since I'll be away on holiday and working on my novel for Camp NaNoWriMo. I may do Camp NaNoWriMo updates every week in July to let you know how I'm doing.

Have a great writing day,

Rachel. x
